Aims and Scope

The National Law School Journal (NLSJ) is the flagship journal of the National Law School of India University, Bengaluru. It is an open-access, peer-reviewed journal that has consistently published original contributions to contemporary legal scholarship on India and the developing world since 1989. The aims and scope of NLSJ are as follows:

  • To publish original, peer-reviewed scholarship in law and allied disciplines with an emphasis on issues relevant to the developing world
  • To encourage established and emerging scholars to develop new knowledge and perspectives on developing world concerns
  • To bridge gaps between the domains of academia and practice by encouraging scholarship by judges, legal professionals and policymakers
  • To achieve a wide readership among legal scholars, legal professionals, policymakers and academics from allied disciplines, including Sociology, Anthropology, History, Political Science, and Criminology, among others.
  • To maintain rigorous standards of peer review and editorial process while ensuring a smooth and timely publication process
