Abstract
The article argues that, unlike the results in Tamil Nadu and West Bengal, the anti-incumbent wave in favour of the Congress in Kerala represents not a rupture but a continuation of the state’s political culture, characterised by bipolar competition, even as it is increasingly challenged by the slow yet steady growth of the BJP-led NDA as a long-term alternative.
