Abstract
The Capital markets over the past decade have undergone a radical transformation. Investment in corporate securities is undoubtedly the buzzword, today. "The lesson must surely be learnt, that the stockmarkets, if proper care is exercised, are the only way to pool the savings of a large number of small investors into productive enterprises whose profits the investors can share".' The corporate sector wants to be associated with the new changes taking place in the capital markets. Be it acquiring control over companies or tapping the markets in search of capital, the corporate sector is definitely approaching the stockmarkets with renewed vigour, and more so, without the Controller of Capital Issues behind its back. The small investor also does not want to be left behind. With the industry emerging from the shackles of a protectionist economy, shares definitely seem a better investment than other kinds of deposits and bonds. The crucial link in this entire investment circle is the stockbroker.
