Abstract
Over the years legal scholars and judicial commissions in India have noted that the most pervasive and 'pathological' problem afflicting India's legal system is the problem of judicial delay. Indeed, the situation remains the same at present with there being little hope of change. The abovementioned commissions made recommendations to alleviate the situation, but few have proposed systemic solutions to this problem. Building on the previous work of one of the authors, in this paper the authors propose a novel thought experiment for solving the problem of delay: the use of 'Turing litigation games4 based on a simple and unified code of procedurefor both civil and criminal cases.
